He can tank damage meant for others, so even if you have the other vikings soaking during that first mines/tribute, dont assume your lone Viking is useless. Olaf is useful on his own in teamfights early on, because of the regen. Extra globes are nice, but you won't be effective and will lose vikings. Do this throughout the game, when longboat raid is on cooldown. There's no reason to split them up early game, just be ready to send Erik off to cover a lane while others are going for an objective. You can practice this when doing Merc Camps. A good place to start is to make sure the Vikings are always properly lined up in a fight, so Olaf in the frontline and Erik in the backline. Other than that you'll probably figure out way more to do by yourself when getting used to their micro. This is when teamfights will start becoming more common, and you'll need the 3 vikings together to use the longboat ult which'll put you ahead in a lot of fights. Then as soon as you level 10 (if done right this should usually happen before the other team hits it because Erik is soaking experience regardless of teammates getting distracted) you can group them as 3. Try not to spam clicks when attacking or you'll cancel Olaf's charge, which'll be horrible if you choose to get the stun talent later on. Then you'll want to put the other 2 in the same group (which you now can't do, so you'll have to select one and shift + click the other constantly) and control them as an autoattacking Hero. I usually a left click him every minion wave and then move him back a bit as the wave thins out and then a-move him back with the new wave. Keep an eye on the minimap and try to get in the habit of controlling him without moving the camera to him. Control groups are broken this patch so it'll be a bit harder than usually, but in general you want to split Erik and the others up so he can AFK push a lane while staying safe.
